Weekend Recap:
I can't believe it is Sunday evening! Monday is looming right around the corner!!!! We have had a full weekend.
Friday afternoon I taught and then raced home to get ready for Meredith's baskeball game. She played really well and afterwards we went out for pizza with our neighbors. We somehow managed to get our daughters on the same team so this is just one of the perks! ;) Saturday morning was Madelines game and then home to clean the house. The girls had a birthday party to go to and we went to church. After that we went out for Mexican with some new friends! It was a LATE night. We had to get up early this morning to take Greg to the airport. He will be at a meeting this week! :( I had to hire a sitter for this afternoon so I could go teach an audition class. I am too new at my job to turn down these type of opportunities. I am TIRED now! I think it is cereal for dinner and early bedtimes for all. Have a great night! :)

Drowning....
I have gotten so behind in my posting. I just sometimes feel like I am drowning in life. For the past two weeks, I have had sick children and it has taken its toll on me. I am also now teaching 3 days a week instead of 1. Add to that some other "life" things, and I feel physically and emotionally exhausted. I had a funny post to write about me being carded ( which pretty much made my weekend...how sad is that?), but it will have to wait! Right now, I am off to get my hair highlighted and then try to have my cell phone fixed. I dropped it last night and it BROKE! Then, I am hoping to come home and lay on the couch for awhile! I am just so tired!!!! I sound like a broken record, so on that note.....TO BE CONTINUED! ;)

Each day is a fresh start!
One of my favorite movies is 'Anne of Green Gables' and one of Annes favorite sayings is that "each day is a fresh start filled with endless possibilities". On that note, I started today off with some quiet time. I had to confess to the Lord my ROTTEN attitude that I have had over the past week. I have just let my actions and words dictate my "feelings" and "circumstances". I know that I can CHOOSE joy or CHOOSE being bitter. Those are two very different reactions, but it truly is my choice!!! Today I am trying to choose the joy. Of course, as soon as I was finishing up my prayer time, in walks Madeline to tell me that she is now sick! Sooooooo immediately, the frustration was so tempted to spill over into my words and temperament! Thankfully, I was able to calm myself down and get her settled. I would appreciate prayer for the health of our family. There is actually some sort of bug that has made its way through our neighborhood. I am starting to rethink whether I ever want my children on one of those moonjump things again. We had a party on Sunday and alot of kids that went to it have come down with this bug! Noah has tonsillitis and is on an antibiotic! He seems to be a little bit better. Meredith headed back to school today and is much better but still weak. I would have given her another day, but she is already so behind. She missed THREE tests and has two more tomorrow. We have a very busy weekend with basketball game & team pictures, cheerleading & pictures, soccer practice, & Greg and I are supposed to be going out Sat. night to celebrate our anniversary. I am so hopeful that I can get everyone well by then. We desperately need a date!!! So, somehow I will survive!! Today has already come, so maybe tomorrow will be better!!! ;)

Be careful what you pray for:
Monday, I was reading a devotional on not letting your attitude depend on circumstantial joy. I felt really convicted and was praying that God would help me in that area. I am the "queen" of being really peppy when life is good and easy and then being in a rotten mood when its not! Oh how I should have "rephrased" my prayer request. So far this week:
~ Chest Freezer is not working. ( I had just been to SAMS to stock up on meat, shrimp, etc)
~ 6 month old Kitchenaid Dishwasher NOT WORKING ( warranty repair guy has stood me up twice now)
~ Construction workers across the street completely cut our phone lines so yesterday we had no phone or DSL!
~ Today a garbage truck hit an electric pole, so we were out of power for awhile...now internet is not working right! :(
~ Noah is sick again and Meredith is home sick as well!
~ I had someone that I barely know say some things about my ballet teaching that were hurtful!!!!
I think that about covers it! I don't know if my attitude has been very good! I am sure in the end God will be glorified and all will be calm again!!! Right?

Being A Parent is HARD WORK!
Truly, there are many days that I want to just throw in the towel and say "I quit". Actually, there have been days when I have just said "whatever". Well I am here to tell you other moms not to do it. STAND FIRM! It is not worth it to be a lazy parent and I am confessing that I have been! I get so tired of the whining and complaining, that I just give in alot of the time and I have a hard time being consistent in discipline. It greatly saddens me that I have failed to teach my children to be incredibly grateful for all the blessings that they have. This weekend in particular, took the cake! I have never been more embarassed in my role of parenting nor felt as horrible at the situation that I have created!!! Well, no more.....last night was the last straw for Greg and me. AND....for the rest of the week the twins have lost tv, IPODS, playtime with friends, computer, Wii ( oh my), and basically anything that doesn't involve school, church, reading, chores, or sports practices!!! They also received another long time coming form of punishing and YES I do believe it is Biblical! After all was said and done, and they were in bed, Greg and I stood in the kitchen looking at each other. Do you know that I felt very angry at myself for letting some things slip, but I also felt relief that we had taken some action! I am convicted that I have let the ball slip in this area. These children are gifts from heaven and I can't take the job of raising them lightly! I am THREE short years away from having TWO teenagers. I know that if I don't get a handle on things now, then my job will be infinitely harder in the future. So, with God's help, I am letting this post serve as a wake up call to myself! And if you are a close friend of mine, you have my permission to check in and hold ME accountable!

New Years Eve 2007!
We have done alot of entertaining lately. It has been fun! We had our good friends the Falkners over and their son Matthew who was born 3 days before the twins. Michelle and I were preggo together and have now known each other for over ten years. We LOVE them!!! We also had one of my best friends over....Cecilia and her fiancee' Blair! We ate lots of good food including the honey ham that Greg's boss sent us, and rang in the New Year at precisely 12 midnight. My kids had a blast staying up that late. ~
Greg and Stephen look so funny in their hats ( Christy: this one is for you ;) ;) ;) )
For years, CC, Michelle, & I have moaned about the photo that Michelle has framed of the 3 of us. We just didn't like it. I don't know if this one is any better. My makeup had worn off by midnight and I didn't even have the energy to apply fresh lipstick. They look great though!
Funny Kids! I have pictures of the twins and Matthew playing together at all different ages.
Group picture! Michelle has the same camera that I do so we propped the sucker up and she set the timer for me. It was a GREAT night!
