When my best bud Cecilia told me that she was going on a trip to the beach, I immediately told her that I wanted to come for part of it. She very sweetly agreed. Disclaimer...I did in fact find her this condo. I sent her a bunch of links and she hit the jackpot. It was the prettiest condo I have ever stayed in and that is saying alot, because I have been to the beach many times in my 36 years of life. Anyway, Noah and I headed down to Gulf Shores on Wednesday of last week. It was great to finally leave because the day before, my fridge went out and I ended up having to go buy another one. It was totally unplanned and stressful, so a trip to the beach was just the ticket! We finally got on the road around 10 am, but what is the first thing a nice mom does???
Why she stops at Chik-fil-a of course:
We finally arrived in Gulf Shores several hours later after Noah asking me *many* times "how much longer". Cecilia had made us lunch and we ate and chatted until the fire alarm went off in our unit. This would prove to be the first of many times that this would happen. We laughed about it, but it was quite annoying and LOUD! We decided to put our swimsuits on and go check out the pools! Yes I said pools! This place was incredible. They had about 5 outside pools complete with slides for the kids (and adults). They also have a lazy river which is my idea of heaven on earth. Seriously, I could have stayed on that thing for HOURS! After swimming for a bit, we headed back to the condo and got ready for dinner. We decided to go to The Crab Trap. It was very good. Funny thing...the last time I went to this particular place I was pregnant with Noah. I told him that, but he could have cared less. He was all about playing on the playground and chomping down on some popcorn shrimp.
Me and CC:
I Love this girl!!!
Noah and her daughter Lindsey:
We headed back to the condo and got Noah situated with a Star Wars movie. The *girls* piled into the king sized bed and watched 'Confessions of a Shopaholic' which I conveniently bought the day before. I LOVE that movie. So cute! It was a great first day and the start to what would be a most fabulous mini-vacation. Day two tomorrow......
